Your adventure begins with a drive into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. As you ascend, the landscapes change dramatically — from dry plains to terraced hillsides dotted with walnut trees and stone Berber homes.
Upon arrival in Imlil, your local guide will lead you on a gentle hike (or optional mule ride) through nearby villages and along picturesque trails. Learn about traditional mountain life, meet local families, and admire views of Mount Toubkal — North Africa’s highest peak.
Enjoy a delicious lunch in a local Berber guesthouse, prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. After some time to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings, you’ll head back to Marrakech with unforgettable memories of Moroccan mountain culture and hospitality.
- Around 09:00 am, we will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
- Our journey begins towards Tahanaoute, a town located at the feet of the High Atlas Mountains, approximately 35 km away from Marrakech.
- As we pass Tahanaoute, we will enter the High Atlas Mountains, characterized by their picturesque peaks and lush vegetation
- Our 4x4 vehicle will take us to Asni, where you will have the opportunity to visit a Berber family and learn about their traditions, culture, and way of life.
- After the visit, we will continue our drive, marvelling at the beauty of the Berber villages scattered throughout the mountains, some of which date back 200 years.
- We will make a stop to capture breathtaking pictures of the Toubkal Peak, the second-highest peak in Africa at 4150 meters. Its majestic peaks can be seen from Marrakech and Imlil.
- Continuing our journey, we will be treated to stunning landscapes featuring vast areas of vegetation, including almond groves, quince groves, and apple groves. Keep an eye out for wildlife and birds, such as waders.
- Another photo stop awaits us at the Kasbah of Tamadout, where you can capture the unique beauty of the surroundings.
- Finally, we will drive you back to your hotel or riad in Marrakech, concluding this memorable trip. This tour offers one of the best experiences you can have in Morocco.
